Julia Lipowiecka

Chief Executive Officer

Julia has been working in the area of trade, regional integration and social development in East Africa for over four years and has direct experience designing and implementing trade and development programmes with a focus on gender and poverty. She has worked with leading organisations in this field such as TradeMark East Africa, DFID, Danida, Sida, the International Trade Centre, the World Trade Organization and the World Bank. She holds an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics.

Lance Hadley

Chief Technology Officer

Lance has over five years of experience in creating technology-enabled solutions to cross-cutting development issues across Sub-Saharan Africa. His past work has focused on enhancing information flows in public sector decision-making through applied data science techniques, Big Data processing, analysis and dissemination. Prior to joining Sauti Africa, Lance worked in information technology management roles for the Canadian International Development Platform, the Canadian Centre of Intelligence and Security Studies and iAffairs Canada. Lance is currently pursuing a PhD in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. His research focuses on the geospatial determinants of violence and conflict in periphery regions.

As a MSc candidate, Anson helped launch the London School of Economics (LSE) inaugural Africa Summit and Research Conference on Entrepreneurship in 2014. He spent his formative years in Kenya and is thrilled to come back and apply nearly a decade of his experience across public, private and non-profit sectors to help Sauti implement and scale its innovative solution to socioeconomic justice. Anson has produced in-depth analysis for business consulting services, think tanks and the US Government, run presidential campaign offices in the United States and managed a diverse portfolio of international development programs worth over $90 million.

Field Operations Manager

David has over three years of experience managing field operations in East Africa. Most recently working in a senior field management position at Busara Center for Behavioral Economics. He holds a BSc in Information Sciences from Moi University.

Strategic Adviser

Victoria has four years experience in designing and managing operations for large-scale randomized controlled trials on gender-based violence, women’s empowerment and cash transfers in East Africa. She has worked with leading organisations in this field, including Innovations for Poverty Action, Busara Center for Behavioral Economics and the World Bank. Victoria holds an MA in Conflict, Security and Development from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.
