Agriculture has been proven to pull the maximum number of people out of poverty according to research. Weather has a significant impact on the agriculture industry therefore access to details of weather information such forecasts allows farmers and traders to make better decisions that help them plan efficiently, minimize cost and maximize yield profits.

Sauti has now added weather forecast information to the mobile platform. This feature allows traders and farmers to access daily weather forecasts in different towns across East Africa. Weather forecast terms have been simplified and translated into local languages to allow inclusivity of the low literacy population, the majority of whom would benefit from the information.  This information is especially beneficial to small scale traders, fishermen, farmers and pastoralists within the EAC region.
